Learning to unlearn

As a human civilization, we have amassed a lot of data. And we are curious beings. We have found ways to string this data into rationalized theories to predict how certain fundamental aspects of our being, function.

This is what I was taught through my years of schooling.

These theories are fascinating, and the application of these theories is fascinating in its own right. They are so because we are able to characterize certain fundamental properties of both macroscopic and microscopic objects. Certainly one can certainly spend a lifetime studying the world as seen through the eyes of someone else.

But if one only understands through the scholarship of others, arguably you can never discover. A degree of skepticism is probably critical, and so is a belief that the even the most fundamental of our scientific models, are hypotheses.
